Glenaire Lifestyle

"Seventeen years ago when Glenaire was being built, I was quoted as saying: "I expect to lead a very active life at Glenaire, and years later I may benefit from the splendid medical facilities." So here I am – still active and devoted to all the great staff here. In all these years, I've never regretted that I made the decision to move to Glenaire."

— Helen Leverton

Ways to Give

The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. (Federal Tax ID # 58-2004356) exists to provide financial assistance to residents in need and, on occasion, to provide special equipment and services to enhance our residents’ lives. You can help build our Foundation’s resources to benefit Glenaire through different kinds of gifts:

Gifts of Cash, In Honor or In Memory
Cash is often the most convenient form of giving. Cash gifts are deductible for federal income tax purposes, assuming deductions are itemized. Cash gifts in honor or in memory of loved ones are meaningful ways to honor someone special or to remember someone who has passed. Please make your check payable to “The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc.” with “Glenaire” on the memo line. If your gift is in honor or in memory of an individual, please write “Glenaire - In memory of Jane Doe” or “Glenaire - In honor of John Doe” on the memo line.

Gifts of Appreciated Securities
Gifts of appreciated securities may be made as outright gifts or to pay for a pledge. Stock certificates may be reassigned directly to The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. or may be transferred through your broker. Indicate you wish your gift to benefit Glenaire. The market value on the date of transfer determines the value of the gift for tax purposes. Capital gains tax is not due when the stock is transferred to the Foundation. Please contact Marcia Johnston, Director of Development and Public Relations, by phone at (336) 886-6553, ext. 5118, or by
email before a transfer is made.

Bequests
Through their wills, donors can give the Foundation money, property, or a share of estate residue. A bequest can either be outright or contingent upon the death of a family member. Sometimes donors who need their assets during their lifetimes can leave bequests for The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. Indicate you wish your gift to benefit Glenaire.

Your Life Insurance Policy
Make The  Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. a beneficiary of your life insurance policy. This is an ideal way to fulfill your charitable desires and requires no out-of-pocket expense to you. To change the beneficiary of your life insurance policy, secure a change of beneficiary form from your agent and include The  Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. as a beneficiary of the death benefit. Indicate you wish your gift to benefit Glenaire.

A Beneficiary of Your Retirement Plan
Make The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. a beneficiary of your retirement plan. Making The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or 403(b) account is easy. Simply contact your plan administrator to add the Foundation’s name to the beneficiary form. They will mail the form to you on which you can write the official name of “The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc.” Indicate you wish your gift to benefit Glenaire. Then return the form to the plan administrator.

Charitable Gift Annuities
A donor can increase his or her monthly income and receive an immediate tax deduction by participating in a charitable gift annuity. The charitable portion of your gift will go to The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. upon the demise of the annuitant. Indicate you wish your gift to benefit Glenaire.

Thank you. Please let us know when you have added The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. in your estate plans as we would like to honor you during your lifetime. When you identify yourself, you encourage others to think of ways they can help grow the Foundation for the benefit of our residents.
