Glenaire 5K and 1 mile run scheduled for April 13
Glenaire invites the public to participate in the 3rd Annual Glenaire 5K (G5K) and Mile Run on Saturday, April 13, 2019, on the Glenaire campus located at 4000 Glenaire Circle in Cary, NC.
The professionally timed race will start and finish at the Glenaire parking deck. The 5K run/walk is a timed event, advanced entry fees are $30, or $35 day of event. The 1 mile Fun run/walk is a non-timed event, entry fees are $20. T-shirts are guaranteed for participants registered by March 27. Participants can register online at www.glenaire.org/5k.php or at event.racereach.com/glenaire-5k-and-mile.
Awards will be presented to 5K race participants as follows: first three men overall, first three women overall and the top three men and women in each of the following age divisions:19-under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80-over. The Glenaire 5K is once again proud to be a part of the Second Empire Grand Prix Series that includes 14 events with multiple awards and prizes.
The 5K run will begin at 9:00 a.m., while the 1 mile Fun run/walk will start at 9:10 a.m. Registration and packet pick-up will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the start/finish line. The awards ceremony will be held as soon as the final race results are tabulated.
Participants are invited to stay after the race to enjoy entertainment and refreshments. Beer will provided by Jordan Lake Brewing Company. A photo ID will be required for alcohol consumption.
The Glenaire 5K is held to benefit The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. The Presbyterian Homes’ communities, including Glenaire, have a mission to honor God by enriching the lives and touching the hearts of those we serve. We accomplish this by providing our residents a caring and high quality retirement lifestyle that supports their physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual well-being. The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. provides support to residents of their communities who are in need of financial assistance. A goal of $35,000 has been set and all proceeds will be used specifically by The Presbyterian Homes Foundation, Inc. for the care of Glenaire residents.
